MK1 & MK2 if used with IBU2 systems the smoker is fully proportional.
MK3 Pro & MK4 Pro fully proportional, works with Heng Long, Taigen, Torro, Tamiya tanks and other radio control models with one or two motors. Please note Taigen V3 control boards do not work with the TARR unit.
For IBU2U (NOT IBU2) and IBU3 the TARR IBU Edition is recommended.

TARR smokers FAQ
No Smoke
This is not a fault, but because the wick which soaks up the oil has dried out or this is common with new units. Simple put finger on the fan to stop it spinning for 1-2 minutes, in this time the heater will get hot and start to draw the oil up through the wick to the heater to smoke. Reason to stop fan is it allows the heater to get hotter and speed up the process. Once the wick is soaked with oil it is fine and doesn't need doing again unless the unit runs dry.
Please note that all units are factory tested with paraffin oil, when changing to water based smoke oil it can appear that the TARR is not producing smoke, this is normal and it's the TARR flushing out the paraffin oil with the light weight water based oil. Note this can take several hours depending on the quantities of oil in the TARR unit.
Note that videos showing the TARR unit in operation are often enhanced by using higher than specified 7.2v to produce more smoke so shows better on the video.
What oil and how much
Various oils can be used, but please consider that non-commercial smoke oil maybe toxic and not suitable for use indoors.
Our preference is Megasteam, available from RCTE for UK customers, which works great in the smokers. With the Megasteam the bottle comes with a pipette lid, half to full a pipette is enough and should last 20-60 minutes, depending on use
Connection of wires for proportional units
Instructions (based on Heng Long installation)
1) Plug the 2 pin plug into the MFU smoke output port
2) First pair of red/black cables connects to one motor (red to red, black to black)
3) Second pair of red/black cables connects to other motor (red to red, black to black)
For tank electronics without switched smoker output (Tamiya). Step 1 above, need to remove the 2 pin plug and connect to the battery supply via a switch (not included)
